Flight Recording

Engine Data Recording - all engine data is recorded into a database at a user defined interval.  This data can be exported to your flash drive and viewed in excel or any other engine analyzing program.

Parameters Recorded...can record each parameter every second!

  • Time/Date (eg. Saturday 22 September 2005 12:32:45 PM)
  • RPM, Manifold Pressure
  • Fuel Quantity 1, Fuel Quantity 2, Fuel Pressure, Fuel Flow
  • Fuel used on flight, Fuel used total since fill up
  • Oil Pressure, Oil Temperature
  • Volts and Amps
  • Outside Air Temperature, Carburetor Temperature, Stack Temperature
  • Cylinder Head Temperature 1-4
  • Exhaust Gas Temperature 1-4

Flight Summary Recording - every flight a flight summary is saved.  You build a catalog of flights that you can later scroll back through (in the cockpit) to see flight length, max oil temperature, etc.

Flight Path Recording -

Google Earth 3D Flight Path

NEW! Now 3D flights supported in Google Earth format!

Now see your flight in 3D with Google Earth ( http://earth.google.com ).  You can zoom all the way down to the actual runway...and even measure your takeoff distance!

Download Sample Flight as show below!

USA PhotoMap

USA PhotoMap 2D example...here is my flight from 5w5->Cox Field (NC81).  Position, altitude, speed recorded with CyclopsEMX and plotted over satellite imagery.  Note that you can zoom in all the way down to the runway.

Photomap allows you to see your altitude, ground speed, oil temperature, outside air temperature, fuel flow, and cht1-4....for each point in the flight.

Flight path recording takes your engine data and attaches it to your position on the map.  You can see what your engine is doing at relevant points in your flight.  Most engine monitors just spew out data and it is hard to visualize where you are in the flight...Flight Path Recording makes this easy.

Here is a flight I flew from 5w5 (Triple W)-> NC81 (Cox Field).  I am using a shareware program by www.jdmcox.com to display my flight path over satellite imagery.

The data file is saved while you fly, when you are done flying you hit a key on the engine monitor and the data is saved to your flash drive, pop that into your pocket and take it home, plug it into your computer USB drive (windows and Linux will recognize the drive automatically) and load the file into the program.

Note that at each point altitude, speed, oil temperature, outside air temperature, fuel flow, and CHT 1-4 are saved.  Just hover your mouse pointer over the point and that data will show up.
