Fuel Considerations
Measured: Fuel Quantity, Flow,
Pressure
Computed: Fuel nautical miles
per gallon, fuel at waypoint, fuel to waypoint, time to empty, gallons
per hour.
One Tank Setup

Note: that the >---:--.-- is the destination waypoint read from
the GPS...and the amount of fuel required to reach the waypoint.
Ar: ---- is the amount of fuel at the waypoint. Note that these have
dashes because a gps is not being received.
Two Tank Setup

and here is the reason for the error:

Fuel Tank2 has not been calibrated! So the engine monitor checks
your calibration data every time the monitor is started...and computes a
checksum of the values to insure they are valid....this is crosschecked
with the checksum done during calibration....they must match for the
fuel check to be valid.
Here is fuel tank 2 calibrated:

The calibration data is checked every time the system is turned on.

Aux Tanks
The Aux tank is used for any other fuel tanks you have on board.
The aux tank can be configured to measure the fuel quantity from the aux
tanks from a fuel flow and timing....or amount of fuel pumped into
another tank. This all depends on your fuel setup.
Fuel Flow
Fuel flow
and fuel flow target markers give you a great tool to monitor fuel
quantity and to keep you on track to your desired fuel consumption.
At more than a six pack a gallon you can quickly go through your beer
money.
Note the target markers in the fuel flow gauge. There is a
target marker and a max marker....these are easily set via the setup
screen.
Fuel Crosschecking = Safety
Cross check your measured fuel used with the fuel quantity in the
engine to give you confidence in your gauges. These are two
independent methods to measure fuel.
Automatic Totalizer
If you have ever used a fuel computer you know how easy it is to
forget to reset to a full tank after filling up.
If you fill up with fuel CyclopsEMX will detect this and prompt you
to enter your fuel totalizer totals.
Get to where you are going without
guessing!
Check your fuel at waypoint to make sure that you arrive
with your own defined fuel limit reserves. This information is
given to you from your GPS....CyclopsEMX reads the data from the GPS to
compute this fuel quantity. (CyclopsEMX understands Garmin Aviation
format and NMEA output sentences).
GPS Interface
We currently support GARMIN GNS 430/530 Aviation format and NMEA 0183
2.0 format.

We can make an adapter
for any type of device you have just provide us with the format of your data.
Plan on 3 weeks for us to produce an adapter for your device.
Fuel Records
Record each fuel fill up to include:
Date/Time, hobbs time, time difference from
last fill up, gallon per hour burn rate, location, quantity, price,
total price.
All these records are saved in an internal database and can be
exported to your flashdrive to keep a running record of your fuel
consumption and fill up times.
